Lesson One: It and Eat
This lesson teaches pronunciation of the /ɪ/ and /i:/ sounds.
The /ɪ/ sound is found in the Vietnamese words thịt, xin, xinh, sinh viên. Some English words with that sound are it, sit, sip, and ship.
The /i:/ sound is found in the Vietnamese words chị, gì, tivi, đi. Some English words with that sound are eat, seat, seep, and sheep.
Listen to the lesson and try to first hear the difference in the sounds. Then you will easily be able to make them.

Welcome
This blog is a companion to my English Pronunciation for Vietnamese videos on YouTube. I will give more explanations and instructions as they relate to each English pronunciation video. We begin with the approach that many of the sounds in English are also spoken in Vietnamese. Some of these are exactly the same, and some must be modified. I will explain the differences and uses in the videos and blog entries. If you have questions or feedback feel free to post them here or contact me by email at fjferendo@gmail.com.
